In-House Catering Services

Our catering service includes tabletop linens for the food tables. China will be used unless disposable is specified. Delivery, setup and retrieval are included in all of the following: continental breakfast, business lunches, coffee & beverage breaks and other side-table, drop-off type requests. Waiter/waitress service available for drop-off service at an additional cost. Your order will be delivered and retrieved at the times indicated on your confirmed Catertrax event order. Events requiring table service will be served on china, using stainless steel flatware and glassware with all dining tables being linen-covered. China is our standard method of service, if disposable dishes and cutlery are requested, additional charges may apply. Consult with our Catering Coordinator to add additional services.

Off-Site Catering Services

Off-site catering may be arranged for events taking place outside of the John Jay and Graduate Center Campuses. These operate as a drop-off only service. Please contact your catering coordinator for the necessary lead time to plan your event and delivery fees incurred. Disposable materials are exclusively used for off-site catering. Please note that fees will be based on scope of event and distance from the main campus.

Student Catering Services

Student catering operates exclusively as a pickup service. Orders may be picked up at the entrance to the cafeteria on the second floor. Disposable materials only.

Prices & Menu

Our menu prices are based on current market conditions. We reserve the right to make changes when necessary. Price quotations will be guaranteed 30 days prior to the event. Prices do not include state sales taxes when applicable, additional rental items requested. All orders must meet a minimum $75 food & beverage amount. The standard delivery charge is 15% of the total event cost, with a $35 minimum.

Confirmations & Guarantees

All catering event orders and quotes must be confirmed with the catering office within 72 business hours of your event. Final guarantees for the number of attendants at the event must be received at least 3 business days prior to your function so that we can make final arrangements. For your convenience, we will prepare to serve 5% over the guaranteed number. If the guarantee is not received within the time requested, the bill will be prepared based on the initial number of guests anticipated on the proposed quote.

Staffing Fees

Staffing options are available for all events if needed, please contact our Catering Coordinator to discuss your service needs. Minimum staffing fees are $40 per server, $50 per bartender, per hour (from stated delivery to pick up times). Five hour minimum. Functions taking place after business hours (Monday to Friday after 5:00pm, any time on weekends) will incur staffing fees. For any events involving beer, wine, or liquor, one bartender is required per 50 guests. Please inquire when booking your function.

Client Responsibilities

Clients are responsible for reserving the room in which the catered event is to be held. All room preparations must be made by the client, this includes responsibility for tables and chairs delivery and arrangement with Physical Plant or other campus representatives or by direct contact with a local rental company, prior to the event. This will ensure the catering setup is completed on time. Any arrangements not made by client—left to or requested of catering services—will be subject to additional service charges. Tables must be onsite 4 hours before event time, we are unable to order tables or make room reservations.
